Growing a business takes an action plan
The biggest thing about building a writing business, especially as an inconsistent writer if we’re being honest, is recognizing “I am the BRAND.”
Take the ego out of the journey.
There are people out there who need our services.
First, to build the brand find the answer to “what’s your message?” Find the “why” to everything you’re currently doing.
1. TAKE ACTION
It doesn’t matter where you are in the beginning. If you’re a total novice or have build a foundation you haven’t touched a couple of years.
Start where you’re at and “do it ugly.” Do it at whatever level you’re at because you’ll eventually learn new things as you go and can then progress from there. This is the most important step in building consistency.
I’ve been slacking in this area. I want to grow a successful online business. I’m unsure of what it will look like but I know it will eventually open up the door to bigger opportunities.
Do it now. Do it scared. Do it ugly.
2. MENTORSHIP
When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.
It’s true.
I recently signed up for a mentorship community group that cost me a good penny but the amount of value and mindset shifts I’ve experienced since then has been priceless. You can’t put a price on the amount of change I’ve gained since I’ve joined.
The right mentors, whether they’re in your field or not, can help you move mountains. Those in your field will be essential to your business growth but we can learn from any “successful” entrepreneur regardless of industry. They’ve paved the way for success so they must have some hidden gems ready to share.
Define your version of success and find those emulating those characteristics, qualities, and visions you also want to accomplish.
3. INVEST
If you have faith as small as a mustard seed that your investments will grow into large ROI’s, you’re on the right path.
